Ball Socket Pitman Arm Kit
Part Number: FR11500-BS

It's scary how much play is in the steering of our Camaro. In fact, Beverly said she wouldn't even drive the car again until I fixed that and the brakes.

We tried to adjust up the stock box, but it was still less than acceptable. As far as I know there's only one choice for new steering boxes - Flaming River. They have a Vega style manual box kit that includes the correct pitman arm for a '69 Camaro. The Vega box is smaller and lighter than the stock manual box.

From this point forward I won't even consider building a car without a new steering box.

Brett Domin and John Jennings were a lot of help in getting us the right box for our Camaro. In fact, John was nice enough to be on our 3/19/04 Speed Talk show.

Other parts that showed up this week:

John Calvert recommended we use the Rancho RS9000 shocks on the rear, so that's what we ordered. Part # RS99115

John also recommended we use a simple 90-10 shock on the front. These Comp Engineering units are affordable and adjustable. Part # C2600
